Automation & Project Engineer (Wind Turbines)- Belgium
Description
We are seeking a technically skilled Automation & Project Engineer to lead the deployment and commissioning of our 25 to 100 kW wind turbine systems across France, Belgium, Germany, and the UK. Based from our Gent (Belgium) facility, the ideal candidate will work remotely with frequent travel to customer sites. This hybrid role combines automation engineering (PLC/SCADA) with project management of wind turbine installations—from planning and permitting to on-site commissioning and client delivery.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar.
5+ years of experience in industrial automation, ideally in renewable energy or power systems.
Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, Phoenix Contact).
Proficient with SCADA system design, development, and maintenance.
Familiar with electrical installations, grid compliance, and commissioning processes.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Fluent in English (required); French, German, or Dutch is a strong asset.
Willingness to travel frequently across France, Belgium, Germany, and the UK.
Comfortable with working at heights; climbing training will be provided.
Valid driver’s license.

Experience in the wind or solar energy sector.
Knowledge of fieldbus and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA).
Experience with remote monitoring platforms and telemetry integration.
PMP or similar project management certification.
